Yulia Drozdova is an incredible human and artist living in Poulsbo. We worked together this summer here on the farm for one of our farm day retreats, and we had so much fun that we’ve decided to collaborate and offer this fun holiday workshop for you and your loved ones.
Yulia uses acrylic and enamel paints and the point-to-point technique to form her mandalas and holiday ornaments. S practice used hundreds of years ago, mandala making is currently undergoing a modern-day renaissance, and still demands respect and a great deal of patience and imagination.
From Yulia: “Within every plate lies the capacity to characterize an energy or feeling in time. My ideas arise from all that surrounds me: architecture, plants, events, museums, travel, people, etc. This is why I do not make copies of my work. Each design is a representation of a unique moment in my life. An expressive design will come to anyone who flows with their current mindset instead of against it. I tune-in, listen to myself, and simply trust my hands to create something beautiful.”
